About IEDAS Consultation Cohorts
-
The IEDAS consultation cohort program is comprised of structured consultations for clinicians who want to deepen their competency development. This program is built to support clinicians in translating inclusive eating disorder treatment frameworks into day-to-day clinical decisions, particularly in the areas that tend to feel murky in real practice.
The consultation Term schedule is subject to change, according to consultant availability and other unforeseen circumstances.
-
Each 3-month term is organized around a focused learning theme and anchored by case consultation. Participants bring real clinical questions and cases, receive support and structured feedback, and guidance in refining their approach to assessment, conceptualization, and treatment planning within an inclusive, trauma-informed lens.
-
Over multiple terms, the work becomes increasingly integrative: clinicians strengthen clinical judgment, clarify roles and responsibilities within multidisciplinary care, and build a more consistent approach to navigating complexity across diagnoses, identities, and levels of acuity.

Laura Gajda, RDN, IEDAS-C, CEDS-C
Laura Gajda, RDN, CEDS-C is an IEDAS-C consultant and eating disorder specialist with over 10 years of experience working in mental health and higher levels of care. She specializes in supporting clinicians who want to deepen their confidence, clarity, and clinical effectiveness when working with eating disorder clients.
As a Certified Eating Disorder Specialist and Consultant (CEDS-C), Laura leads structured, case-based consultation groups where providers can thoughtfully explore complex cases, strengthen risk assessment skills, refine documentation, and develop more intentional intervention strategies. Her work focuses on balancing evidence-based structure with relational safety — helping clinicians feel grounded rather than overwhelmed.
Laura believes that eating disorder clients are not “difficult,” but protective, adaptive, and deeply deserving of consistent, attuned care. In her groups, she creates a space that blends accountability with warmth — where clinicians can ask hard questions, process uncertainty, and grow their clinical voice without shame.
Her mission is to build confident, ethically grounded providers who deliver high-quality care while sustaining themselves in this emotionally demanding field.
IEDAS-Consultant
Najeeha Khan, LPC, IEDAS-C
Najeeha is a Licensed Professional Counselor based in Texas with a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Global Health from the same institution. She is EMDR-trained and brings several years of specialized clinical experience treating eating disorders and disordered eating alongside complex trauma and body image concerns.
Najeeha's clinical approach is rooted in a holistic, mind-body-soul framework that centers trauma-informed care, radical self-compassion, and genuine client empowerment. She draws on interpersonal, psychodynamic, and somatic orientations, integrating EMDR, CBT, DBT, and exposure-based modalities, along with experiential and expressive interventions, to support clients in reconnecting with their bodies and identities.
Her work is distinctly shaped by her perspective as a daughter of South Asian immigrants and a Muslim clinician, which informs her attunement to the intersections of culture, systemic oppression, identity, and the etiology and maintenance of disordered eating. She brings particular depth to cases involving disconnection from the body, shame, and the ways diverse cultural and relational histories shape a client's relationship with food and self.
IEDAS-Consultant
Alison Pelz, LD, RDN, LCSW, IEDAS-C
Alison is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Registered Dietitian Nutritionist based in Austin, Texas, bringing a rare dual-credentialed perspective to eating disorder treatment. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Nutritional Science from California Polytechnic State University and a Master of Science in Clinical Social Work from the University of Texas at Austin (2005). She has been a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist since 1997 and a Certified Diabetes Educator for over a decade, with clinical experience spanning hospitals, outpatient clinics, and private practice.
With over 16 years of specialized focus on eating disorders, disordered eating, and body image disturbance, Alison has expertise in both nutrition therapy and psychotherapy, a combination that allows her to address the complexities of eating disorder treatment from multiple perspectives. Her clinical approach integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and mindfulness-based interventions, with a core emphasis on helping clients move away from external food rules and toward embodied trust in their own bodies.
Alison is particularly well-known for her work with ARFID across the lifespan, as well as anorexia, bulimia, and binge eating disorder. She has written extensively for clinicians and caregivers on topics ranging from ARFID in adults to supporting adolescents through recovery, and has been featured in Psychology Today and other professional outlets.

About: From the Creators of IEDE
The IEDAS Consultation Cohort program
Designed by clinicians for clinicians. We built this program to go far beyond the typical piecemeal research presentations about random eating disorder topics. The full eating disorder treatment puzzle comes together with the IEDS Certification training, followed by the IEDAS consultation cohort program. All IEDE offerings are intentionally built to elevate and safeguard eating disorder treatment for all.
We Listen to Your Feedback
The IEDE team created this advanced consultation program based on feedback and demand from the larger eating disorder community. Our endeavor is to provide the highest quality consultation at the most accessible level of investment. The demand for consultation and additional learner support and community has inspired us to create Consultation Cohorts for our IEDS clinicians.
No Outside Financial Control
Our educational and credentialing offerings unique in that they are created by highly experienced and practicing clinicians, including both dietitians and therapists. IEDE is entirely self-funded to ensure that our trainings are free from outside financial persuasion. All education is based on clinical need, inclusive values, research, and modern approaches to ED treatment, and we cannot be persuaded to change by large corporations dictated by the bottom line.
Origin Story of IEDE
The creators of IEDE are both group practice owners, and we desperately needed a comprehensive eating disorder training to use for our own clinicinas. Due to the total lack of affordable, comprehensive, inclusive, timely trainings — we created one. Now we are happy to share it with others who may find themselves looking for the same thing we were years ago.
Inclusive Eating Disorder Education, PLLC began building our first training in 2021, and it was finally released after 3 years of blood, sweat, and tears in early 2024. Since then we have revised and improved the program and the platform for our second edition, released in 2026.
The Inclusive Eating Disorder Specialist (IEDS) Certification has quickly become the preferred eating disorder training in the larger eating disorder community, both in the US and internationally. The scope, values, and usable information remains unmatched among eating disorder training credential programs.
