IEDAS-C Scope of Role: Leading Consultation Cohorts
IEDAS-C consultants provide advanced, values-aligned consultation to help professionals strengthen inclusive, trauma-informed eating disorder care. Their work includes cohort facilitation, case consultation, and direct, caring feedback on assessment, conceptualization, treatment planning, and interdisciplinary coordination.
Consultation is grounded in IEDE’s commitments to trauma-informed care, antiracism, inclusivity, social justice, and harm reduction, with attention to how culture, power, and systems shape both symptoms and access to care. Consultants support consultees in clarifying scope, roles, and overlaps across disciplines, identifying when medical oversight or higher levels of care are needed, and building practical, client-centered strategies that prioritize safety and autonomy.
IEDAS-C consultation is professional education and mentorship and does not create a provider relationship with consultees’ clients. Consultants uphold clear ethical boundaries, confidentiality and de-identification standards, and jurisdictional considerations.
